What Is Functional and Integrative Medicine?
Functional Medicine looks to find the root cause or mechanism involved with any loss of function, which ultimately reveals why a set of symptoms is there in the first place, or why the patient has a particular disease label. - Dr. Will Cole D.C.

Functional medical practices or treatments focus on optimal functioning of the body and its organs, usually involving systems of holistic or alternative medicine.  Integrative medicine looks to blend current Western medical practices with that of a more personalized approach that combines holistic, alternative and non-conventional methods.

Up until recently, many traditional doctors unfortunately only treated the symptoms of patients. which in most cases never actually helped the patients get any healthier.  But today we are seeing more of a transition towards physicians that are expanding their knowledge and to incorporate functional and integrative medicine which looks to address the root cause of diseases.

Here is a short list of some of the doctors I keep my eye on.
